Soprano Titanium Hair Removal innovation is the only clinically proven method of laser hair removal that is virtually painless, and it is the safest laser hair removal method for all skin types. Its unique gradual heating and rapid/fast pulse delivery method effectively damages the hair follicle and hinders re-growth, while preventing injury to the surrounding tissue.
Once the hair follicle is damaged, it cannot grow new hair. However, there are invariably a few hair follicles that manage to partially escape the laser during each treatment. Some of these follicles may be only stunned and will need to be retreated.
Using a laser is considered one of the best methods of tattoo removal. Pulses of light from the laser are directed on to the tattoo breaking up the tattoo pigment. Over the next several weeks the body's macrophages remove the treated pigmented areas. More than one treatment, and in some cases up to 12 treatments are necessary to remove all of the tattoo but most of the effect takes place in the initial treatments.
There is a mild discomfort during treatment (often described as being snapped with a rubber band). Some patients experience redness of the skin and swelling after treatment but this is normally short term.
Anything which makes the skin appear younger may be classed as rejuvenation. The majority of our lasers can be used for skin rejuvenation, namely the Clearlift, Clearskin, iPixel Erbium and all 3 IPL applicators. They can also be used in combination to smooth the skin, plumping up the collagen and improving lines and wrinkles as well as tightening pores. Pigmentation is improved, leaving skin radiant and clear. They offer little to no downtime, with excellent results, generally mild swelling and redness depending on the modality used.
In laser skin resurfacing a laser is used to remove areas of damaged or wrinkled skin, layer by layer. Pixel is an FDA approved laser device designed to improve the quality and texture of your skin while stimulating collagen regeneration. Pixel is for the treatment of wrinkles, scars (including some acne scars) superficial skin lesions and skin resurfacing. Patients will find the skin around the treatment area feeling firmer with a smoother surface texture.
At Kirkwood Fyfe we can use laser, IPL and skin peels to improve pigmentation. We stock the Obagi skin care range, and treatments can be used in combination.
We have lasers to treat both active acne and the scarring and pigmentation which can be left after spots. Acne is a spectrum ranging from mild - with whiteheads and blackheads, through moderate, with pustules and papules, through to severe acne, with nodules and cysts under the skin.
Alma ClearSkin uses the non-ablative Erbium: Glass 1540 nm laser, which deeply penetrates the skin, causing thermal damage to the sebaceous glands, destroying the bacteria which causes most cases of acne. It reduces sebum production while leaving the epidermis intact. Contact cooling protects the skin, reducing pain and allowing for safer and more effective treatment of the sebaceous glands within the dermis. It gives significant improvement in active acne with little down-time or side-effects. The treatment is suitable for all skin types, has no side effects and achieves a smoother complexion with lasting results.
The Smartlipo Triplex is the only triple-wavelength laser that the FDA has cleared to liquefy fat and tighten skin. It causes only minor bruising and muscle aches, and actually tightens skin by remodelling the collagen left behind, similar to methods used to repair acne scars. The skin tightening effect means that after fat has been removed, there is less unsightly slack skin at the site of the treatment. Another important issue is that after the fat breakdown, the fat is aspirated (effectively removed) from the site. Areas that can be treated are abdomen, inner thighs, outer thighs, batwings, cheek & jowl, knees, arms, upper back, lower back, saddle bags and buttocks. Laser Liposuction is not suitable for moving large masses of fat. It is for removing moderate amounts of fat to allow sculpting of the body.
During the treatment, you will feel the sensation of the anaesthetic going in but once it is administered you shouldn't feel any pain. You may feel the movement of the cannula but that should be all. Although sedation may be used, you will be awake at all times. You may experience slight tenderness, numbness or lumpiness. These should resolve with time. The wounds (which are extremely small) will normally be sutured, and it is likely that they will disappear altogether with time. More than one treatment is not normally required but It depends on the amount of fat in each area. Normally one treatment can achieve a good result. Revisions of a treatment area are performed for half price. To obtain the best results, a healthy diet and regular exercise must be followed to ensure no further weight gain.
Cellulite affects the vast majority of women, usually after puberty. Fat isn't the problem. It's a structural issue below the skin that only your surgeon can treat. That's why men typically don't get cellulite. The structure of their skin is different from women's. This also explains why even very thin women can get cellulite, and why some heavier women don't. There are three structural problems that cause the appearance of cellulite. First, the connective tissue bands beneath your skin surrounding fat cells can become tight and inflexible. Second, enlarged pockets of fat trapped by the rigid bands push up against skin. Finally, thin skin makes the appearance of cellulite even worse giving a dimpled, orange peel look.
Cellulaze is the first and only cellulite treatment that targets the actual structural problems underneath the skin. It goes deeper to give you proven, long-lasting results.
The treatment consists of inserting a very small cannula and a small laser fibre which delivers energy directly under the skin. The laser will melt fat, release the fibrous bands that pull down on the skin (which cause that annoying dimpled appearance), and promote collagen production, which has been clinically shown to result in improved skin thickness and elasticity. By targeting these three areas, Cellulaze effectively minimizes the appearance of cellulite. Because the area is generally numbed with local anesthesia, there is minimal discomfort. You may feel a slight pressure during the treatment. Following a Cellulaze treatment, you may experience some temporary soreness in the treatment area. You'll see some improvement right away with optimal results apparent between 3-6 months. However, it is important to maintain a healthy diet and exercise regime.
